I'm cold and I hate you
I applied for college today, I'm nervous. I'm not the brightest nor the most talented and my school have already turned me down for art - the only reason I'd ever stay on - because I didn't finish coursework. I've decided on photography, media studies and art. We'll see. I'm in a pissy but I've had a good day, I feel lost but there is only one route for me to take.

Past. Past? Well now let me tell you about the past; Past is filled with silent joys and broken toys, laughing girl and chasing boys. Was I ever in love? I called it love, I mean, it felt like love, there were moments when.. well.. there were moments when.
Present. Go out with you ? Why not. Do I like to dance? Of course. Take a walk along the beach tonight? I'd love to. Don't try to touch me, dont try to touch me, because that will never happen again.
Future. Tomorrow? Well tomorrow is a long way off. Maybe some day I'll hold somebody's hand. Maybe somewhere sombody will understand. You know I used to sing a tisket, a tasket, a brimming yellow basket. I'm all packed up and I'm on my way I'm going to fall in love, but at the moment it doesn't look good. At the moment it will never happen again.

I must say, I really loved the ending of this series. Unlike al ot of people I know I definitely think it was so effective. It kept Cook a little innocent, knowing he'd killed a man would've just been terrible. But yeah, I did love it. I'm going to miss Naomily and Cook and JJ, but I think it was right to change the cast. It'll be just like friends. They can't let it die, so they'll just keep producing new casts and new stories and it will just ruin it.
It's better to burn out than fade away, right?

I love the night-time. I feel more in the dark, as in how I imagine someone losing one sense to heighten on their others, the lack of light heightens my emotions and my feelings rather than my senses like drunkenness. I tend to remember memories when they're at night. Although I have an incredible fear for the night and the unknown, I do not think this is due to the darkness itself, more the loneliness I associate with the dark.

It seems as though it would be much more benefitial, in the name of style and fashion, to be a boy. In my opinion a boy who dresses well is much more sought after than a girl who dresses well and all we want is to be wanted, right? I'm not about to get a sex-changed but if I were a boy, I'd be the best dressed boy on this side of Pacific.
I'm a sucker for some pointed shoes and a well tailored blazer.

Summertime! by The Drums was released on October 19 2009, but their sudden bout of success and popularity seems to be due to their recent tour supporting Brighton boys The Maccabees. Their most recent album features light summery-feeling guitar that soften the bluntly depressing lyrics. With the naivety that The Drums manage to pull off so well, they still manage to put on a show with their live performances. After playing in Cardiff, the crowd, many of which seemed never to of heard of the small New York-based four piece group managed to picked up on the easy tune and 'Best Friend' went down better than you would of expected. Although lead singer Jonathan Pierce pranced around the stage like a peacock in mating season, they did not fail to impress. BBC announced them as one of the 15 music acts for the BBC sound of 2010. The Drums were also awarded the Phillip Hall Radar award this year at the NME awards. In the eyes of the editorial staff of NME, The Drums were the most worthy to have graduated from theRadar (a page for new bands in NME magazine) over the past year. It seems 2010 will be their year, but will they be able to withstand the hype?

About Me
- dirtyprettything
- my name is molly. I like the Drums, anything by Dean Chalkley, a good camera, a nice pair of shoes, Robert Smith, vegetarian recipes, old films, cigerette burns, music trivia, the smell of old books, strawberries, church candles, knitted socks, tequila, french farm houses, money jars, cigars and whiskey, father's old shoes, lace and leather, big rings and Bombay Bicycle Club. My ever growing music collection is my most prized possession.
